My goal for this analysis is to help current artists who are trying to make sucessful songs. Is there a formula that can combine core ingredients of music such as time signature, tempo, and mode with other subtle variables such as liveness, energy, and danceability to determine if songs sound better than others? For example, is a song more likely to be popular if it has a higher tempo and valence? Does loudness play a role? Is tempo or key a major factor in determining a spot on the chart? By using linear regression, chi square analysis, and anova anslysis I hope to determine if certain variables are more significant than others in determining the spot on the charts.
